A healthy, low-calorie diet is one of the most important and much-debated topics of our time, and in this context fruit and vegetables play a very significant part. Often however, trends, needs and reality do not always correspond: thus in recent years actual consumption of fruit and vegetables, respectively retail sales, have mostly fallen behind expectations. FRUCHTHANDEL MAGAZIN HALL FORUM
Solutions for product tracing and ECR in fresh produce

Nowadays, modern supply management and tracking systems have a decisive role to play. As of1 January 2005, a new EU regulation stipulates among other things that it must be possible to track the origins of food products, i.e. those of fruit and vegetables as well. What impact will this have on the international fruit trade – from the grower to the point of sale? What are the best means of achieving this? And how can these be made to succeed? In this context, some key items for discussion are RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and ECR (Efficient Consumer Response). At the Fruchthandel Magazin Hall Forum experts from all parts of the tradewill provide answers to these questions. At the Hall Forum events there will be simultaneous translation in German and English, and also in those languages where issues dealt with concern the countries in question. The programme is subject to change.
